July: Barbara tyroler

Barbara Tyroler is a professional artist who received her M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst with emphasis on visual communication and community arts development. Tyroler also received her MFA in Imaging and Digital Arts from the University of Maryland where she studied photography and videography. Tyroler's work focuses on abstracted figurative portraiture with emphasis on family, relationships, and issues of identity. During her time as a photographer Tyroler and her husband founded Animage Photography and Videography. As a practicing artist, an educator, and a photographer Tyroler has received over 25 arts and community development grants. We are lucky to work with Tyroler over the next few months as she prepares for the FRANK:InFocus photo festival on Franklin Street.
